GMAT Test SECTIONS

On the day of the GMAT test, you may choose one of the following sections’ order

1} AWA, IR, Quantitative, Verbal
2} Quantitative, Verbal, IR, AWA
3} Verbal, Quantitative, IR, AWA

Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA)

The AWA Section of GMAT exam requires you to examine a flawed argument and present the most important flaws in a coherent essay. This section aims to measure your ability to think critically and to express your ideas with transparency.

Integrated Reasoning

The Integrated Reasoning Section of GMAT test  is meant to test your business acumen via 12 questions set up as mini case-studies. You have access to a calculator for this task, as most of the questions will require quantitative skills, data interpretation and data analysis.

Even though there is an online calculator available for this section, the computation level of the Integrated Reasoning and the Quantitative Reasoning sections remains the same. This section of GMAT test  is not computer-adaptive and it measures your reasoning skills across four different response formats:

1} Two-Part analysis questions – based on the information presented, there will be two questions to be answered. These two questions are sometimes interlinked. Information presented could be a brief scenario or a math problem.

2} Graphic Interpretation – based on the visual data presented, two to three statements need to be completed with the help of a drop-down menu.

3} Table Analysis – a table with sort by column will be presented, based on which there will be mostly three statements. The responses to these statements are a binary type. For example, you can either choose yes or no, true or false, inferred or not inferred and so on.

4} Multi-Source Reasoning – questions framed on multiple sources. Here multiple sources refer to multiple tabs that you see onscreen. The questions presented could be multiple choice or binary type.

GMAT Test Scoring

Since, the test is computer adaptive, the GMAT score depends on the level at which you complete the test – harder the level of difficulty, better the score. Quantitative and verbal reasoning sections report a raw score for each section from 0 to 60 and a combined score from 200 to 800 with 10 point increment. Integrated reasoning section reports a score from 1 to 8 with 1 point increment and the score is based on the number of correct responses. Analytical writing assessment is scored twice independently to generate an average score from 0 to 6 with 0.5 increment.
